An amazing and very inspirational young client of mine has set off on an adventure of a lifetime – please grab a fresh cuppa and have a read about Hayley’s bid to raise $1 for every meter of Kilimanjaro (5895 mts) that she will climb – she will then take the funds directly to CALM Africa in Uganda to put the money to work. A spare 5 minutes and $5 can make a huge difference to her and the children she is helping. Hayley’s Calm Africa Charity Bid
Tibetian Village Project Australia
Tibetan Village Project Australia was commenced in early 2005 by Don Cullen after he tried to set up a program to help the Tibetan people in Tibet. He has been actively involved in Tibetan culture for the past 48 years and has travelled there many times over the past decade. He developed a great empathy for the Tibetan people who are trying to maintain their Culture, Religion and quality of life.
After becoming frustrated by bureaucracy, He searched for someone who could help and after looking for some time, he found Tamdin Wangdu. Tamdin is a Tibetan living in the United States and had started Tibetan Village Project in 2001. Against the odds, he established 3 Medical Clinics, an Artisan Store and schools. It became apparent that Tamdin had the contacts that Don needed, and Don had the expertise to build the organisation, so they joined forces and are now well established in both Australia and the United States.
Tibetan Village Project assists Tibetans living in Tibet with building a future for themselves and intern their community. Education, Healthcare, Microfinance, Micro Enterprise and Eco Tourism – are some of the projects undertaken all with a focus on building a sustainable future for Tibetan culture and Tibetan people.
Tibetan Village Project Australia believes that donors who donate to their programs should also have the opportunity to travel to Tibet and see how their funds have been used, but also for anyone looking to explore Tibet in a personal and intimate way. We believe in interaction with the locals and can assure travellers that many new friendships will develop on your journey.
